UniVerse 10.3 Alerts

In UniVerse V10.3, when fixtool is run with the –fix option and it encounters a certain type of file corruption, data loss could result in the OVER.30 portion of the file. This problem affects the AIX, Solaris and Windows versions of UniVerse V10.3. A new version of fixtool to address this situation will be available soon. Please check here for more details:

Due to the current inability of the UniVerse Transaction Logging roll forward utility to properly apply updates to files encrypted with UniVerse Automatic Data Encryption, the combination of UniVerse Transaction Logging and Automatic Data Encryption should NOT be used on the same UniVerse file. Activating a UniVerse file for Transaction Logging and Encrypting the same file will not demonstrate any problems during normal processing. However, if an attempt is made to roll forward transactions from that file, the encrypted data will not be processed correctly and the encrypted data in the file will be unusable after the rollforward process has completed.
